What is gottman method couples therapy?
GMCT is based on over 40 years of research by John and Julie Gottman into what constitutes a happy, healthy marriage. Emma heard one too many story from a client about a bad experience with couples therapy, so she invested in levels 1, 2, and 3 of Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Additionally, Emma has completed the Gottman Institute’s Treating Affairs and Trauma training, as well as Couples and Addiction Recovery training. Emma is currently on track to become a Certified Gottman Therapist, meaning that she is under the mentorship of an Advanced Certified Gottman Therapist working towards the highest level of qualification in GMCT.

What is HeartMath?
HeartMath is a biofeedback technology that measures Heart Rate Variability and coherence. Practicing HeartMath techniques enables your internal systems – mental, emotional, and physical – to work together in sync to produce an optimal state of functioning. In short, being in heart coherence is the antidote to stress. It turns out that our emotional state is directly linked to the functioning of the heart, and when we intentionally experience a positive emotion our heart rhythm immediately changes and causes a cascade of neural, hormonal and biochemical events that benefit our entire being. Emma is a Trauma-Sensitive Certified HeartMath Practitioner.
